eFront allows you to define how the courses will be presented in the catalog, as a 'list' or as a 'grid'.

In order to change the default course view in your portal, go the 'System Settings' -> 'Appearance' tab (1) and select the mode you want to use from the drop-down 'Default courses view' menu (2).
