If you’ve noticed that Learners are unable to complete a SCORM unit even if they have completed the content, then this article is for you.
First, we need to explain that SCORM type content has its own completion rules, and thus does not require a unit completion method.
There are two reasons the SCORM unit may not be completing.
- The content is not returning the “completed” status to eFront.
- eFront has received the status from the content, but the page does not yet reflect the completed status.
Scenario A
You can test if this is the case by uploading the content to SCORM Cloud. If the content is properly completing, then proceed to scenario B. If the content is not properly completing, you need to reach out to the content’s author who will be able to correct this for you.
Scenario B
This scenario usually happens if your content is set as embedded in an iFrame. If this is the case, and we have already confirmed that the content is properly returning the “completed” status, then the LMS has received the status but the page does not yet reflect it.
There are two ways to correct this:
- Change the content to be embedded as a popup (1). Popup SCORM content refreshes the page as soon as the popup content window is completed or closed.
- Learners, after completing the content, need to click the “Incomplete” (2) button and then on “here” (3). This will force the content window to exit/close and the system will refresh the page and display the completed status.
