To install a new plugin, log in to the system as an administrator, and from your Administration dashboard, visit Plugins (1).
Here, you will be able to view a tabular list of all your plugins that are available in your eFront, both installed and not installed. The list shows these columns: Name, Title, Author, Version, Status, and Operations. To install a new plugin click on the 'Install plugin' button (2).
This will open up a pop-up window for you to upload your plugin file. If you already have a plugin with the same name and you want to overwrite it check in the 'Overwrite existing folder' option.
| Note: eFront runs two checks before it installs a plugin. It confirms the plugin supports your version of eFront, and it checks the plugin's PHP files for syntax errors. If either check fails, the installation stops and the message tells you what needs fixing. |
In order to install a plugin that is already available in the Plugins list, you can click on the Install icon (3) under the Operations column.
To upgrade an already installed plugin, click on the upgrade operation (4) and select the plugin file to be upgraded.
To turn a plugin off without removing it, click on the toggle (5) in the Status column. A deactivated plugin stops working, but its files and data stay in place, so you can switch it back on at any time. If the plugin's PHP files have syntax errors, eFront won't let you enable it until they're fixed.
To download a plugin as a ZIP file, click on the Export (6) icon in the Operations column. You can export any plugin, whether it's installed or not.
To remove a plugin completely, click on the Delete (7) icon in the Operations column. Deleting an installed plugin uninstalls it and removes all its files and data. A confirmation message warns you before anything is deleted. For a plugin that isn't installed yet, Delete removes its folder only.
