A course's completion rules define which conditions a learner has to meet for that course to be considered 'completed'.
To view or set a course's completion rules, go to the course's dashboard and click on the "Course Rules" (1) button (on the top right).
On the "Course rules" page, there's a section titled "Completion Rules" where you can view a list of all the conditions that have already been set (if there are any). To set a new condition, click on the "Add Condition" (2) button.
On the "Add Condition" page, you can set a new "Condition" (3) and its "Relation with other conditions" (4). Pick your preferred condition from the "Condition" drop-down menu (5).
Your options are:
- Completed all units
- Completed all tests
- Completed all assignments
- Completed a fraction of units: Enter the completion percentage (from 1 to 100) a user must reach or surpass for each unit.
- Completed a specific unit: Select the prerequisite unit from the drop-down menu.
- Spent an amount of time: Enter the total amount of time (in minutes) a user must spend on the course.
The "Relation with other conditions" drop-down menu (6) offers two options: "And" and "Or". Conditions that are set to "And" must all be met by the user for the course to be considered 'completed'. On the other hand, out of all the conditions that are set to "Or", only one must be met by the user for the course to be considered 'completed'.
Example 1:
The course is considered completed when a user has completed all tests (7) as well as the specified unit (8).
Example 2:
The course is considered completed either when all units have been completed (9) or when a user has spent at least 45 minutes (10) on the course.
