There are several different ways that you can access and grade submitted Free-text questions.
- From Alerts.
- From the Course Dashboard.
- From Gradebook.
Grade Free-text questions in tests via Alerts.
To access a user's submission, click the alerts icon (1) and, from the alerts feed, click an alert summary (2).
On the "Alerts" page, click an alert (3) to go to the specific user's submission.
On the completed test's details page, you see all the questions and the user's answers (just like in the article's third screenshot). Click the score value link (4) to grade an answer. Optionally, click Add feedback (5) to provide personal feedback on that answer. After grading an answer or adding feedback, click the respective field's OK (6) button to submit your input.
Grade Free-text questions in tests via the Course Dashboard.
Το access a course’s completed tests, go to Courses and click on a course. On the course's page, click Add Content and, from the drop-down list, choose Go to Tests (1).
On the course's Tests page, you see all tests completed by your learners along with helpful information like their scores, time of completion, etc. From the Operations column, click the Eye icon (2) to view details for a specific test taken by a particular user.
You see the completed test on the details page with all the questions and the user's answers. Click the score value link (3) to grade an answer. Optionally, click Add feedback (4) to provide personal feedback on that answer.
After grading an answer or adding feedback, click the respective field's OK (5) button to submit your input.
After each user's free text/file upload test submission, an alert is automatically triggered and sent to you.
Grade submitted assignments via Gradebook.
Lastly, you can access and grade submitted Free-text questions in tests via the Gradebook option. To access it, click Gradebook (1).
You will see pending assignments and tests that need your attention. Click Score (2).
Find the test you want to grade and click View (3).
Click Score (4), set the score, and click OK (5).
