When importing Users to eFront, you can either transfer their existing password with them or import them without defining a password.
Before importing Users without defining a password, you have to define how they will log in to eFront. Log in as Administrator and, from the Homepage, go to 'System Settings' -> 'Users'. Choose between providing the imported Users with a random password (1) or a password that exactly matches their username (2).
For security reasons, especially when the new password has been set to exactly match the username, it is advised to force each User to change their password after their first log-in. From the Administrator Homepage, go to 'System Settings' -> 'Security' -> 'Passwords' and activate 'Force password change upon initial log-in' option (3).
Note: When the new password has been set to random, it is important to activate the 'User created' notification (4). It is the only way for the User (and you) to be informed of what is the password, so always make sure the User’s email address is correct, valid and accessible to them.
